GROWING
When you were a child in a big big world
The first thing of all that you were told
Was that you were too small
How you wished to be tall
They taught you to speak just to tell you: be quiet
You looked at the stars in a silent night
But they said: it´s too late
And they sent you to bed

They looked at your picture and said very strong:
You can´t paint a blue frog because it is wrong
Grown ups are always right
And they know how to do
You sang them a song and they blamed the tune
They said: writing songs is for you just too soon
You were told once again:
Wait until you´re grown up
Refr.: And you were growing...
You built up a house and they frowned their face´s
Windows must be on certain place´s
And they said: hurry up
Get finally grown
The meal that you did wasn´t good so they say
Because it has never been cooked this way
The next lesson was:
Others do better
Refr.: And you were growing
And once in your lifetime you will realize
That you may get old but you´ll never get wise
And then you´ll stay a child
Alone in this world
Your own children will come very soon
To show you a picture and sing you a tune
And you should love it
